John Arends - St. Charles, IL - SCSFe Alumnus
John Arends from St. Charles, IL, an SCSFe Alumni, has reached the semi-finals of the 2009 Creative World Awards
screenplay competition for his Family Drama script, "HEART OF HONOR." John was also a 2008 winner of our SCSFe Actors Choice Awards
for his script "SOLOMON'S WHALE." And even better than all the above, he was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2008 PAGE AWARDS competition. |

Hey Larry,
I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Clifford Werber and I have attached ourselves as producers to
one of the projects that was pitched to us at the Santa Fe Conference - Hannah MacPherson's "WAKE UP,"
a smaller budget horror film, that we are now developing with her. So, it was a success!! We are looking
forward to working with her and hope that we can make this movie happen! Thanks again for the wonderful weekend!

Bill Schreiber - Seattle, WA - SCSFe alumnus
Bill has two scripts (action/adventure "Switchback" and dramedy "Chasing Echoes") that have advanced to the Second
Round (Top 10%) of the 2009 Austin Film Festival screenwriting competition. Both scripts also made it to the
Quarterfinal Round of the Bluecat Screenplay competition. |

Hallie Tassin - Santa Fe, NM - SCSFe alumnus
Hallie placed 2nd in the 2009 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Drama Category
for her screenplay "Caesar's Attendants."
If Moby Dick had antlers... he'd be Caesar, the legendary deer who haunts the lives and dreams of generations of country
boys in small-town Louisiana. An ensemble drama about Trip Floyd and his buddies and their quest for the elusive Caesar,
and how Trip, still devastated by his mother's brutal murder, teams up with a sleazy politician in an attempt to escape
his father's shadow.
Judges' Comments: A very compelling ensemble drama. Strong themes. Gorgeous imagery. Fascinating characters.
Powerful, funny, and deeply moving. |

Bill has advanced to the Quarterfinal round of the 2009 Nicholl competition with a script titled "Chasing Echoes."
This script that has already won the screenwriting competitions at the Vail Film Festival
and the Asheville Film Festival in North Carolina. It is also currently a Quarterfinalist at the
PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition. |

Chris Billett - Orange County, CA - SCSFe 2003 & 2005
Chris' screenplay "Unrest" was produced in 2006.
The film is scheduled for nationwide release on
November 17th, 2006, as part of the
8 Films to Die For
series, distributed by After Dark Films.
Chris has previously optioned material and was recently featured
in Scr(i)pt Magazine?s HOT SHEET column. He is represented by the
Agency for the Performing Arts. |

Paul Clingan - Plano, TX - SCSFe 2006
Paul Clingan, who won two Actors' Choice Awards in 2006 with
"Karst" and "Division One Rules", just won the 2007 Austin Film
Festival Pitchfest with "Seventeen Days". |

Chuck Conaway - Santa Fe, NM - SCSFe 2001 - 2007
Chuck's film Waiting for Dublin has been officially accepted
to the Shangai Film Festival 2007. |

Gena Ellis - SCSFe 2003
Gena's film Angela's Decision won several awards in 2007 including
the Ron Tibbet Best of Show at the Tupelo Film Festival;
Gold ACS Award for best drama from Australian Cinematographers Society,
and many others and is currently being considered for a TV series in the UK. |

Mike Farris - Sunnyvale, TX - SCSFe 2003
Mike's feature script Tsunami has been optioned by
Boyington Studios in Santa Monica and two others have been optioned by
Centrifugal Films in Los Angeles.
His screenplay "The Catch" advanced to the Quarterfinals
of the Nicholl Fellowships and his screenplay "Paradise Lost"
finished in the top 15% at Nicholl Fellowships. |

8th Annual 2007 Santa Fe Film Festival and has also played at
the Durango Film Festival and the Taos Mountain Film Festival. |

John & Patricia placed as runner-up in the Writers on the Storm
